About Me
Hi! I'm Shane Vincent, a sound artist, game designer, and musician. My original works include field recordings, sound art, films, and video games. My contracted work includes ample Foley, sound design, and Re-recording mixing for film. When it comes to performing, I've had the pleasure of playing trumpet in ensembles like the CalArts Salsa Band and the ASU Wind Symphony, the merengue ensemble Los Angelitos Del Mambo, and the world class marching music ensemble, the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps. I’ve also performed with the CalArts African Ensemble, a group that practices drumming and dance music from multiple language groups in Ghana. I hold a BFA in music performance and composition from CalArts, and will soon hold an MS in Game Technology from Breda University of Applied Sciences, where I researched music-making game design.
While audio is the most dominant medium in my life, I love exploring other fields related to arts and science. I've studied modern dance and ballet, I've written and performed for a weekly sketch comedy show, and I enjoy experimenting with microelectronics like Arduino and Raspberry Pi. Coding and making audio-related software (Python, C#, Lua) has become integral to my work. I like to think that all of these experiences influence and inform my audio work.
I was raised in Tucson, Arizona by two amazing parents. When I'm not making cool sounds, you can catch me running, bouldering, or backpacking..
