About Me
Hi! I'm Shane Vincent, a sound artist, game designer, and musician. I hold a BFA in music performance and composition from CalArts. My original works include field recordings, sound art, original films, and video games. My contracted work includes ample Foley art and sound design for film, and music and sound for video games. When it comes to performing, I've had the pleasure of playing trumpet in ensembles like the CalArts Salsa Band and the ASU Wind Symphony, Tambora Desafinada, a merengue ensemble, and the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, a world class marching music ensemble. I’ve also performed with the CalArts African Ensemble, a group that practices drumming and dance music from multiple language groups in Ghana.
While audio is the most dominant medium in my life, I love exploring other fields related to arts and science. I've studied and performed modern dance and ballet for a graduate thesis. I've written and performed for Farce Side Comedy Hour, a weekly sketch comedy show. I enjoy experimenting with microelectronics like Arduino and Raspberry Pi, and coding (Python, C#, Lua) has often become integral to my work. I like to think that all of these experiences influence and inform my audio work.
I was raised in Tucson, Arizona by two amazing parents. When I'm not making music, you can catch me running, bouldering, backpacking, or playing some video games.
