Bathroom Time, my Mid-Residence (And Mid-Covid) Recital, was my attempt to stay creative in a time of extreme isolation, introspection, and newness. Having spent a year in a new city during mass lockdowns, attended online courses at a new college, and not met anyone but my two roommates, much of what I created was made to entertain myself, or keep myself otherwise sane (for the most part).
The bathroom felt like one of the few places during covid it was both feasible and interesting to hold an online concert, so it was the setting for the live portions of the recital.
The first piece on the concert is an traditional choral piece arranged for trumpets, followed by some films I had worked on the year prior. Afterward was the premiere of an original composition for solo trumpet, then a live improvisation (shower included). The show finished with a “music video“ for an original trumpet quartet composition.
