While the first section of my trip was somewhat lonely, I did eventually find some fellow hikers (mainly one fellow hiker), with whom I grew quite close. Sharing the experience of the PCT was almost more rewarding than the nature. I think the social environment of the trail made making friends a much quicker process, and sharing so much of my day with the same person made making connections much easier.
I’m quite bummed I didn’t get to complete the entire thru-hike due to time constraints. If I had another two months to hike, I may have been able to, but life did not give me that much time. I could forsee myself doing another similar adventure in the future, possibly even a complete PCT thru-hike, or a trip to New Zealand to take on Te Araroa. Who knows. I’m just very glad I got to experience what I did.
